STATEMENT ON PARISH COUNCIL OFFICE PROPOSAL
We have been observing the various reflections shared concerning the proposal for a Parish Council Office.
The Parish Council has identified a need to have its own office. Our former longstanding clerk recently retired, and we need to have a more central location to store and have accessibility to a vast range of files and archives which previously was not possible. Residents have been stating to us they would like to see a Community Hub setup that can provide better access to information, preservation of records as well as feedback that sees the profile and visibility of the Parish Council enhanced.
At the early stages of this proposal, all Councillors felt that aside from the vacant premises in the High Street, there were no alternative, suitable provisions to achieve this. The Parish Council are grateful to the interest shown by Jiggens Trust into potential facilities that may be available at the Village Hall and look forward to receiving their proposal on what is available.
We will update the community once those conversations have concluded in the coming weeks.
