Ixworth Cemetery is owned and maintained by Ixworth and Ixworth Thorpe Parish Council as the Burial Authority.
Members of the public are welcome all year round to tend graves, pay their respects or simply visit the cemetery. We have a number of benches around the cemetery for visitor use and there are also two taps available for water. Carriers for water are also provided and we ask these are replaced after use so that others may find them.
We ask that members of the public who visit the cemetery bear in mind this is a public space for the community. We wish to maintain a tranquil atmosphere in the cemetery in order that those visiting their loved ones final resting place or memorial will have the space and respect to do so with dignity and peace.
In order to promote this climate, we ask that visitors keep to the marked paths and avoid damage to seating, signs, monuments, plants and flowers or furnishings on graves. We ask that all dogs are kept on leads and any mess is cleaned up and placed in the waste bins by the cemetery gate. We also ask that any litter or dead flowers are also placed in these bins, observing the labels on each as a guide.
Vehicles are not permitted in Ixworth cemetery but for the funeral cortege with prior approval. It is important that this gate remains closed and no vehicles park in such a way that obstruct this area. There is a separate gate for pedestrians and we ask this is closed behind you on entering and exiting the cemetery.
On this page you will be able to view any form you may require and further information as to the regulations governing Ixworth Cemetery.
