The Parish Council has been approached many times over the last few years on their concerns about speeding vehicles in the Village.
A Speedwatch Community Group was formed a few years ago but unfortunately it had to be disbanded when we lost some volunteers.
The Parish Council have now purchased and has started deploying a Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS).
Vehicle-activated signs are an electronic sign which only become visible when approaching motor vehicles are exceeding a certain speed.
The VAS is designed to support speed awareness – warning drivers exceeding safe speed limits and encouraging them to slow down helping to make a safer environment for road uses and pedestrians.
At present the sign is being deployed in Thetford Road near the White House and Bardwell Road near the A&S garage.
Stow Road has also been highlighted a a particular area of concern but at present the Parish Council are unable to deploy the device in Stow Road.
